Jennifer DeBellis
M.S. Student in Environmental Engineering at UIUC
B.S. Civil Engineering from UIUC

Research Projects:

[1] Using selective environmental pressures to characterize mixed microalgal community structure and function.

[2] Downstream process modeling for the anaerobic digestion of waste streams from a microalgae biomass processing plant.

Jennifer's Bio and Research Description: Jennifer is a Walter E. Deuchler Environmental Engineering Fellow and M.S. student in Environmental Engineering at UIUC. Her research is currently split between experimentation and modeling of microalgae biomass production and processing in the context of biofuel generation. Jennifer is most interested in how biological processes involving microalgae can improve bioenergy production and nutrient recovery from waste streams.
