Bio and Research Description: Justin is a Ph.D. student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Ilinois at Urbana-Champaign and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. His work focuses on the development of novel biocatalytic approaches for microcontaminant treatment in drinking water guided by quantitative sustainable design. He is currently working on hybrid-biocatalytic drinking water technologies as well as studying the effects of mass transport on the biocatalysts in a column treatment setup. His work has been recognized by the AWWA with the Larson Aquatic Research Support Scholarship and the ARCS Foundation with the ARCS Foundation Scholar Award.
